Member Spotlight Spotlight Award Winner - Maria Cesario-Horvath, Hampton Inn by Hilton™ and Homewood Suites by Hilton® (Membership Recruitment Committee) “I attended Trivia Night and NEXT Conference as a nonmember. Loved the networking and opportunities MPI offered. I convinced my hotel to become a member of MPI and at the new member mixer I knew that if I really wanted to make the most of my membership, then I should get involved! I reached out and attended a couple [of] first meetings with different committees I was interested in. I fell head over heels for the Membership Committee because I loved the enthusiasm and knowledge that Keri Miller, Rick Hud and several other wonderful leaders within this specific MPI committee [have]. Committee Spotlight - Marketing & Communications (MarComm) Vice President of Communications - Lu Clark, ADA Director of Marketing & Public Relations - Heather Warthen, H1 Marketing & Events Co-Chairs - Eneyda Rodriguez (PRA), Kate Shea (CNO Financial Group) and Liza Doyle (L37) What is your committee responsible for? We are the marketing arm of the chapter, working with committees to help them promote their events and/or initiatives. We are responsible for messaging on our social media channels as well as content for our C&C e-newsletter and magazine. How often does your committee meet? We meet at 4:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month. What are some tasks people do for your committee? Our committee is split into three areas. First, we have the MarComm liaisons who are assigned at the beginning of the chapter year to work with each committee and help develop their marketing plans for their events and initiatives. Second, we have our social media team who work to make sure all posts submitted from committees, chapter partners and global are posted to our social media channels. They also keep social media guidelines up to date. Finally, there is our C&C e-newsletter that publishes twice a month and our C&C magazine that publishes twice a year. Several committee members contribute articles regularly for this, and we are always looking for new writers! What makes your committee fun or stand out? We have a pretty phenomenal committee, with the majority of our members participating for the past two years. We are a pretty well-oiled machine with a good mix of efficient and creative thinkers and doers. Many people join because they love to write, be creative on social media or are solid project managers. We welcome everyone to check us out! |
