Board Spotlight Want to get to know your board of directors a little better? Meet Director of Special Events – Awards Event and Holiday Party Jonathan Zani (Black Oak Technical Productions)! 1. How long have you been with MPI-CAC? Almost 3 years! 2. What committees, if any, were you on before joining the board? The Annual Awards Recognition Celebration Committee 3. What is your role on the board? I am director of special events for the MPI-CAC Holiday Party and the AARC. 4. What is one goal for MPI-CAC you have in your position this year? To navigate through uncertainty in our industry to create stronger relationships and unique new 5. What do you like to do when you’re not working? I love to read, practice my Spanish, cook and go to the gym (to work off what I cook). Connect
Volunteer/Join a Committee The best way to get the most out of your MPI-CAC membership is by joining a committee. It’s a great way to network, utilize your skills or challenge yourself to try something new! We know everyone has busy schedules, but many of our committees have a variety of tasks that can be done in just one hour a month! Committees are always looking for members with leadership skills, creative mindsets and the drive to collaborate with fellow industry professionals. Committee Spotlight – Education Content Committee Vice President, Education – Kara Ferguson (American Society of Anesthesiologists) Director of Education Content – Aine O’Brien (Google Inc.) Co-Chairs – Jennifer Charles (College of DuPage) and Bunny Lee (American Bar Association) What is your committee responsible for? The Educational Content Committee is primarily responsible for researching and selecting speakers and topics for each educational chapter event based on requested topics and speakers provided by the membership. How often does your committee meet? Our committee meets every first Monday of each month for one hour via Zoom. What are some tasks people do for your committee? Committee members have the tasks of connecting and networking with a wide range of speakers to see if they would be the best candidate to fulfil the meeting objectives and purpose of the chapter events. They also review and grade submissions resulting from the call for speaker proposals. What makes your committee fun or stand out? What makes our committee stand out is that we all have diverse backgrounds and have the ability to be accepting and transparent with all ideas and visions that come to mind while designing, organizing and sustaining a balanced program of events in compliance with MPI HQ. |
