The National Association of
Convenience Stores (NACS) is asking all retailers who either accept federal
food stamps (SNAP), or are considering such acceptance, to comment on
proposed rules that will significantly affect store eligibility or
seriously complicate eligibility and ongoing compliance. The
comment deadline is May 18th, so quick action is needed.

There are two ways to assist
in this effort:
1) Click
here for the NACS portal, assisting you to complete a letter commenting
on the rules. By following the instructions you will have completed
comments objecting to the rule changes.
2) You can modify a short
letter developed by CIOMA with your company particulars (you will need to
convert the file from PDF to an editable file). Click
here for the draft letter. Then you can follow instructions, click
here, for directly submitting your letter on this rule adoption.
* Fill in the requisite
information:
o In the "Comment"
field, type: "Please see attached file."
o Under "category,"
select "Retailer"
* Upload your saved letter
* Click "continue"
to advance to the next screen
o On the next
screen, review all the information you have entered to ensure there are no
mistakes
* Certify that you have read
and understood the official statement
* Click "Submit
Comment" to file your comments with the Food and Nutrition Service!
