South Coast Air Quality Management District Proposed Hydrogen Fluoride Ban Working Group

SCAQMD is holding a working group on the proposed Rule 1410, a ban on the use of Hydrogen Fluoride in the refining process. A similar effort was defeated in the legislature this year and was a main issue during our Day at the Capitol. Recently, the District has attempted to shorten the rulemaking process and curtail stakeholder input in other proceedings. This means it is extremely important for CIOMA members to attend the public hearing to let the staff know we oppose this rule and we are paying attention to how they are conducting their rulemaking. CIOMA works with coalition partners daily on issues at SCAQMD as the District develops the strictest rules in the state and is often an indicator of future rules at the state level.
