About the Webinar:

Wednesday, July 22, 2015

11:00 a.m. PST

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) introduced a variety of new penalties, fines, and taxes that employers are working hard to avoid paying. Two significant penalties include the excise tax, and penalties faced by applicable large employers that do not meet their employer-shared responsibility play or pay obligations. Finally, the implementation of the Cadillac tax is looming, and although the industry is awaiting further regulation and guidance, understanding the basics can help you in the future. This webinar will explain:

  • The excise tax and what triggers it
  • Self-reporting requirements of the excise tax and what happens if you don't report
  • How to file IRS Form 8928
  • The HSA comparable contribution rules and taxes for violations
  • When the excise tax is not imposed
  • Best practices to remedy excise tax violations
  • The employer-shared responsibility penalties
  • How to calculate "A" penalties under play or pay
  • How to calculate "B" penalties under play or pay
  • When the penalties will be due
  • The Cadillac tax -- what we know, and what we are waiting for
  • Best practices as the industry awaits Cadillac tax implementation

This 90-minute basic to intermediate webinar will help you determine when a penalty is owed and how to report non-compliance.

Boyett Petroleum’s Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund Exceeds $1 Million Dollar Goal

June 11, 2015 Modesto, California

The Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund, founded by The Boyett Family, hosted the 26th Annual Make Dreams Real Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 14, 2015. The tournament, played at 3 courses; Del Rio Golf and Country Club, Oakdale Golf and Country Club and Saddle Creek Golf Resort (Copperopolis), was sponsored by 85 businesses and individuals and had 310 golfers participating in the tournament. With the help of more than 75 volunteers and the generosity of many, the tournament was a great success, raising approximately $306,000 for the Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund has exceeded it’s 2016 goal of a $1million dollar balance, with a current balance of nearly $1.1million dollars. The fund distributes 10% of the balance annually as grant funding throughout Stanislaus County. Boyett Petroleum’s "Cruisers" gas stations and convenience stores also collected donations during April and May during their annual "Send a Kid to Camp" campaign collecting over $15,000 from generous customers throughout the community.

The Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund was established by The Boyett family in 2009 to provide funding support for children’s programs in Stanislaus County. The mission of the Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund is making dreams real for school aged children in Stanislaus County through participation in programs that enrich and stimulate their minds and bodies and teach values through service learning. Children that participate in the supported programs, and their families, are encouraged to volunteer within the program, fundraise and help with community events. The Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund has awarded more than $280,000 in grant funding since the fund’s inception. The Stanislaus Community Foundation administers the Fund. Fundraising is conducted solely through the annual Make Dreams Real Golf Tournament. Boyett Petroleum underwrites the entire cost of the tournament so that every dollar received goes into the endowment fund with absolutely no deductions.

Past recipients of Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund grants include:

Society for Disabilities, Adapted Bike Camp

Organizations with programs that are aligned with the Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund’s mission, vision and grant guidelines are encouraged to apply for funding annually. The 2015 grant application period concluded June 1, 2015. Award recipients will be announced later this month.

The next Make Dreams Real Annual Golf Tournament will be Thursday, May 19, 2016. More information can be found on the Fund’s website: www.makedreamsrealfund.com.
