With the holiday season upon us, CMSA would like to share its holiday schedule for operations. Our goal is to ensure all of your service requirements are met through the season.
From Dec. 23 - Jan. 1, CMSA's offices will be closed in observance of the holidays. Please email cmsa@cmsa.org for urgent needs and assistance at this time. The offices will reopen on Jan. 2, 2014.

CDC, CMS collaborate to advance public reporting of important hospital quality indicators

New data posted today and gathered through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) gives patients a first look at how their local hospitals are doing at preventing Clostridium difficile infections (deadly diarrhea) and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bloodstream infections. This information, as well as other hospital performance measures, is collected as part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) Program and is publicly available on the Hospital Compare website.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced today that nearly 365,000 individuals have selected plans from the state and federal Marketplaces by the end of November. November alone added more than a quarter million enrollees in state and federal Marketplaces. Enrollment in the federal Marketplace in November was more than four times greater than October’s reported federal enrollment number.
