We thought this year was going to be quiet on the legislative front, but alas, we were wrong. 

The first bill was one that we, PCOC, introduced. SB 1064 (Newman) would add language to the Structural Pest Control Act requiring proof of workers’ compensation in order to issue, maintain, or renew any company registration. This is good for the industry and will help protect all of those individuals who have made a career in pest control.

We are also extending the Structural Fumigation Enforcement  Program until January 1, 2024. Los Angeles, Orange and Santa Clara counties will be included in this extension and we expect discussions with other potential counties who wish to participate in the future.
