The four pillars developed for our association at the strategic event were Legislative/Regulatory Advocacy; Membership Experience; Member Benefits/Business Development; and Organizational Structure. Here are additional insights for each of these important PCOC pillars.
For decades, PCOC’s leadership and staff have performed a crucial advocacy role in defending pest management professionals by stopping harmful California legislative and regulatory initiatives. Regrettably, these unfavorable measures often spread to other states throughout the country. PCOC will continue to conduct these activities at the highest level. It is imperative to be at the table for all legislative and regulatory meetings that affect pest control.
PCOC will increase its focus on Membership Experience to provide opportunities to be more engaged in our pest control network by cultivating professional relationships even further. The goal here is to connect like-minded individuals that are supportive, experienced, and enthusiastic about the professional pest management industry.
Under the Member Benefits/Business Development pillar, PCOC seeks to empower members by providing exclusive member benefit access to enhanced collective purchasing power, business development resources and networking opportunities. Additionally, the organization looks to provide greater regulatory awareness to help members with applicable rules and regulations.
Lastly, PCOC must embrace organizational restructuring. The goal here is to create the ideal association structure to accomplish our objectives efficiently and effectively. This pillar seeks to enrich meeting opportunities through careful consideration of the timing, content and how PCOC’s network of members can best be served in today’s marketplace.
Throughout the rest of the year, PCOC will be active implementing various portions of the strategic plan. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. It is important to hear input as we chart our course to a brighter future for pest management professionals.
