PCOC Leadership Lens

“Everything Rises and Falls on Leadership.”

-John C. Maxwell

I recently returned from PCOC’s District Leadership Conference, which I enjoyed immensely. It’s always great to see everyone and I continually leave PCOC meetings reminded and thoroughly impressed with the Leadership Legacy that has been left for us by so many fantastic leaders throughout the years.

It has been said that one of the differences between managers and leaders is that managers light a fire under people, whereas leaders light a fire inside of people. We are the beneficiaries of the fire from the PCOC Leadership Torch being passed from one person to the next, from one generation to the next, from one leader to the next, where it can continue to burn inside of us today. It was awesome to see so many new District Chairpersons and see the commitment and enthusiasm they possess to lead their district to success. Huge kudos to everyone involved with this conference, as it was a great accomplishment, being extremely informative and beneficial.

Whether it is a Fortune 500 Company, a baseball team, a pest control business, or your local PCOC District, everything indeed does rise or fall based on leadership. Each of us has seen countless examples of this principle throughout our lives, our companies, and our individual districts. Because of this, I will be focusing on the importance of leadership during my time on the Executive Committee.

We will begin including a Leadership Section called ‘The PCOC Leadership Lens’ in each monthly PCOC News Briefs email. The goal will be to share Leadership Tips and Tricks that can be immediately implemented and utilized as you see fit, with a special focus on helping individual districts grow, develop and succeed. If you have leadership practices that you would like to share, please email me anytime. I’d love to include some of your ideas in future months.

If you have leadership questions, or topics you’d like to see covered in future issues, please reach out. Working together, we will all benefit.

All the best!
