In July, we will also be launching the companion website with our new membership software. This website will provide PCOC with a fresh web presence and offer our members enhanced access to information all in one place. Features of the new website include:

  • Shared Calendar: A unified calendar for all PCOC and industry events.
  • Committee and District Websites: Individual websites for all committees and districts.
  • Industry and Consumer Websites: Separate, focused websites for industry professionals and consumers.
  • Enhanced CEU Courses: Improved software for obtaining and managing Continuing Education courses.

We are excited about these upgrades and look forward to providing our members with a more efficient and enjoyable experience. Stay tuned for more updates!

Chief Executive Officer's Notes

By Michael E. Wilson, PCOC CEO

Pest Control Operators of California (PCOC) continues the quest to reclaim our status as the best state pest management association in the United States. During the Board of Directors meeting in Sacramento last week, PCOC Bylaws Committee Chair Lauren Thrasher presented a comprehensive refresh to PCOC bylaws to adapt them to meet today’s challenges and opportunities. In last month’s News Briefs, I highlighted that the two-day PCOC’s Strategic Thinking Event (STE) this past November produced the general framework to help thoughtfully implement modifications to PCOC’s structure and activities.

Over the past several weeks, Bylaw Chair Thrasher hosted three virtual town hall sessions that thoroughly explained the proposed bylaw modifications. These bylaws adjustments seek to address the “Organizational Structure” changes sought under the four-pillar strategic plan developed at the STE event. PCOC’s engagement of association bylaws specialist Molly Alcorn of Alcorn Law Corporation is a key aspect of this bylaw review. Alcorn has given PCOC a solid sounding board to help bring the organization into the “structural” mainstream of today’s associations.

As previously mentioned, PCOC is excited to announce the appointment of our new Director of Membership and Communications, Kaylin Bullert. With Kaylin on board, we are dedicated to enhancing the membership experience by creating even more opportunities for professional networking within our pest control community. Her role will focus on connecting like-minded individuals who are supportive, experienced, and passionate about the pest management industry.

One of our key goals is to leverage our statewide network to harness our collective purchasing power, offering exclusive member discount programs that positively impact our members’ financial bottom line. With Kaylin’s expertise, we aim to foster a more engaged, connected, and thriving community.
