President's Notes

We’ve just wrapped up an exciting milestone—the first in-person Board of Directors meeting as CAPMA! We kicked off this meeting gathered in beautiful weather at DeBell Golf Course, starting the event with a friendly round of golf. The energy carried over into our meetings, where committees worked diligently to create charters and set ambitious goals for the association’s future. The room was filled with lively conversation, and it was inspiring to see so many passionate voices debating how we can improve CAPMA and provide more value to you, our members. I’m confident that the progress we made during these meetings will keep CAPMA moving forward with courage and dedication.

In other important news, we’re actively searching for our new CEO—a critical decision that will shape the future of CAPMA. We’ve already conducted several interviews with strong candidates, but we’re taking the time to find the perfect leader. It’s essential that we choose someone with the right experience, vision, and alignment with our values. This process may take time, but we are fully committed to finding the best person to guide us into CAPMA’s next chapter.

Meanwhile, our executive committee and other dedicated members are working tirelessly to deliver an outstanding Pest Ed Conference this January. We’re locking in top-notch speakers to bring valuable insights to both the Northern (January 16, Citrus Heights) and Southern (January 14, Montebello) events. This will be a fantastic opportunity to sharpen your skills and stay at the forefront of the pest management industry, so be sure to mark your calendars!

Looking ahead, we’re also excited to host our very first CalOSHA Workshop on November 11-12. This will provide an excellent opportunity to stay updated on regulations and ensure compliance in your business.

Thank you all for your continued support and engagement with CAPMA. Together, we are building a brighter and stronger future for our association and the pest management industry.

What is Connect?
Connect is the Structural Pest Control Boards new online licensing system designed to streamline the process of submitting applications. It’s user-friendly and efficient, making it easy for you to manage your applications.

How to Use Connect Correctly:
Create a Personal Account:  Each applicant should create their own account in Connect using a personal email address. This ensures that individual information and application details are accurate and secure.

Submit Applications Individually:  Submit your application through your personal account. This ensures that your application details are correct and associated with you.

Why Not Use a Company Account for All Submissions?  Connect is designed for personal application submissions. It is not intended to be used to submit applications on behalf of all staff members through a single company account. Using one account to submit all staff applications can lead to confusion and errors. Each staff member should manage their own application to ensure that all information is correct and up to date.

Need Help?  If you have any questions or need assistance with using Connect, please reach out to our Licensing Unit at (916) 561-8704 or pestboard@dca.ca.gov. We’re here to help you navigate the system and ensure that your applications are submitted correctly.

By following these guidelines, you’ll help us maintain the accuracy and efficiency of the application process and ensure a smooth and efficient process for everyone involved. Thank you for your cooperation!
