It's Leah here to remind you to stay the course. Are your New Year's goals already escaping you? Keep your focus with these words of encouragement and scroll below to find a new supply chain career opportunity. Don't forget, we're here to help. Reach out or visit CSCMP's Career Center for more resources.
- FOCUS on your Needs: It's important to be mindful and list out your wants and needs. Is it work/life balance, continuing education, excellent company culture, advancement opportunities? Prioritize these needs and speak up about them. I used to think of this as selfish but then one of my mentors reminded me that “If you don’t ask, you many not ever receive” and it will be evident if you are asking with sincerity and not selfishness.
- FOCUS on your Network: No matter where you are on your career path, be there for your network and they will be there for you. As the Senior Account Manager at CSCMP, there is no better part of my job than connecting my members to others in the CSCMP community. Some are seeking new job opportunities, some are looking to give back, and some just need advice from experts. As a result, my members have always been there for me.
- FOCUS on your Next Steps: Sometimes it’s easy to get bogged down in day-to-day tasks, but I encourage you to remember to push yourself beyond your current limits and step outside your comfort zone. Again, maybe that’s a career change, pursuing a certification, or simply presenting new ideas to leadership. One of my favorite quotes is “Wherever you are, be all there” by Jim Elliot. This quote reminds me that life will be more rewarding if you approach tasks and events with mindfulness and purpose.
