CSCMP Launches New Initiatives at the 2017 Leadership Forum
CSCMP leaders from across the U.S., gathered in Chicago, IL, June 9 & 10 for the 4th Annual Roundtable Presidential Summit and Leadership Forum. The event focused on several new initiatives including a new classification system for Roundtables and other growth-oriented improvements to program development and management.
"Every year we strive to identify areas of improvement and growth in our Roundtables. Leaders are critical to making the Roundtables successful. This event strengthens that leadership by presenting best practices and new initiatives to implement in local markets,” says Ben Cubitt, Chairman of Roundtable Programs.
Highlights from this year’s event includes:
- Launch of the Peer Group Program. Roundtables will now be organized by peer group according to certain attributes such as financials, number and quality of events, membership and more. The four categories are major markets, east and west Roundtables and finally emerging markets. The goal of these groups is to set goals and expectations based on the health of the roundtables and assign internal staff, resources and support.
- Reorganized reporting systems and dashboard controls. CSCMP is committed to providing Roundtables tools and technology to help them manage their organizations. Leaders are key to helping identify our main priorities and areas of expansion. Improvements related to reporting and websites are in the pipeline.
- Introduced new Roundtable Service Center staff. The Roundtables have new support staff who are ready to assist them in various activities. The Roundtable Service Center includes expertise in membership, marketing, finance, IT, governance, and administration. They also provide event related services such as content, speakers, career, annual conference and education programs.
There were many forward-looking topics discussed at the 2017 event that were related to technology, websites and marketing strategy. Attendees sharied ideas amongst themselves during breakout sessions, with networking opportunities during the architectural river cruise tour and dinner.
