A special message from CSCMP President and CEO Mark Baxa.
Gain the intelligence you need from top industry peers at EDGE
Closing in on 60 years, CSCMP has hosted supply chain’s premier event™, the EDGE Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition. EDGE provides attendees from all over the world with the opportunity to be empowered with fresh intelligence, solutions, innovation, and networked connections to be utilized immediately, and in the future.
This year, EDGE 2022 will be the opportunity for CSCMP to bolster our end-to-end supply chain students and professionals with actionable insights to break through and move forward in your supply chain management discipline. The kind of discipline that helped us maintain, endure, and evolve through the current state of the global supply chain we’ve found ourselves in since the pandemic began in early 2020. We honor and take ownership of the exceptional opportunity to educate and connect our industry colleagues for the betterment of our personal, career, and global responsibilities. Together we’re living through an ultimate supply chain and global shift, which is exciting and challenging each of us to work smarter with the right people.
The CSCMP staff, member volunteers, and expert contributors have truly accepted the above challenge, working diligently to deliver access to quality content with the value you know us for, but also to spotlight trends across talent, labor, transportation, and important topics and innovations in technology developed and enhanced since the onslaught of the global pandemic and other world-changing events. We will discuss topics that bring you near-term intelligence to solve for critical challenges like supply chain sustainability, talent recruitment and retainment, diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), innovation, transportation optimization, digitization, supply chain visibility, and so much more.
The EDGE 2022 experience will bring us together, stronger, and more connected than in previous years. We’re all still adjusting our comfort levels to the social awkwardness of these important social events. There are no rules, except be mindful as we greet one another. Fist bumps, hugs, or waves are many of the ways we’ll reconnect and begin the conversations we’re excited to have as we seize this opportunity to network with our professional peer group and continue to develop our new normal.
CSCMP exists to CONNECT, EDUCATE, and DEVELOP, but we also serve as a witness to and shaper of supply chain history. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn, to lean into the content delivered via the educational sessions, and skill up with ideas and resources in the Supply Chain Exchange.
Education is the foundation of continuous improvement. We, as supply chain professionals and ambassadors, never stop learning and continue to pay it forward. We care about you, your team’s development, and we care about your customers. The EDGE conference will provide all in attendance a broader, deeper vision of the profession; an opportunity to participate in relevant learning programs, interactive exhibits, networking activities, entertainment, and the inspiration to enhance your personal and organizational development. You can’t get what EDGE offers from sitting behind the computer or for that matter, anywhere else! You must be at EDGE!
CSCMP EDGE is here to support your solutions seeking requirements and enhance your personal career development. It's an invaluable investment in yourself and your career. Do not underestimate the power of relationships nourished at the EDGE conference … relationships that matter. That’s CSCMP.

Sustainability is a driver for organizational growth and profitability. That statement may have seemed dichotomous at one point, but it's possible to thrive as a business while creating positive social and environmental impact. They aren’t competing goals. In fact, an organized, authentic, and mission-driven approach to sustainability can improve an organization's balance sheet, day-to-day operations, ongoing consumer demand, and future longevity. Thank you Mark McCullough, CEO at Gebrüder Weiss USA, for sharing this CSCMP Hot Topic.

Central Florida Roundtable "I joined CSCMP in August of 2016. I wanted to explore the knowledge opportunities and network with other Supply Chain professionals.
The networking opportunities with CSCMP are invaluable to Supply Chain Professionals. Round tables, webinars, and annual conference are great places to share and learn from others. My advice to new members is reach out! This is a great place to find mentors or even better - become a mentor!
I have met many amazing people through CSCMP, ones who have helped me not only gain knowledge, but help me get connected to the right people to be able to share my knowledge."

Poland Roundtable "I was always passionate about Supply Chain and was engaged in some extracurricular activities in this field at Kozminski University, where I met Professor Jarzebowski, who is the CSCMP Poland President. I was assisting him in organizing CSCMP CEE Conference 2021, and during that time I've learned about numerous opportunities for learning and development that CSCMP offers to young professionals. That's how I've decided that I want to be part of it!
I think the most valuable advice is to make connections with other professionals, especially more senior colleagues. Good connections will enable you to be always in the knowledge of current industry trends, new ideas, and might open to you new great supply chain roles.
Personally, I am a hard learner and what I enjoy most about CSCMP is the huge library of learning materials covering almost all Supply Chain-related topics. As this library constantly expands, there is always a possibility to absorb more knowledge and boost your professional development.
The most impactful connections that I've made are among academics that are part of the CSCMP network. In the past, I was considering an academic career and I really enjoy sharing my thoughts and ideas with people who have a tremendous theoretical background. I highly believe that the cooperation of practitioners with academics is key for delivering outstanding Supply Chain solutions."

According to the July Logistics Manager’s Index Report®, the overall LMI reads in at 60.7, down from June. This is the lowest overall reading since May of 2020, at the height of COVID-19 lockdown. This is down 13.8 points from this time last year, and below the all-time average rate of expansion of 65.2. The overall index has ticked steadily down since registering the all-time high reading of 76.2 in March. We have not seen a score in the 50’s since May of 2020, but if the index continues on its current trajectory we may cross that threshold again in August.
