China’s online shopping event Singles Day can make or break a retailer’s year. "I joined CSCMP in November 2018 a few months after taking a break from my 13-year career. I wanted to keep myself connected to the Supply Chain industry by networking, enhancing knowledge and also contributing and adding value to this industry as I had ample of free time in doing so. My advice is to network with fellow members from all over the world and also to take advantage of CSCMP’s offers and learning which is a sea of knowledge. Participate in the events provided by CSCMP to have you seen and heard."

"Originally joined CSCMP in 1988 when it was CLM and I attended the conference in Boston. Another manager in the company couldn't go, so my boss had me use his ticket. I walked out of the conference with ideas to solve problems that the company had and saw problems the company had that others did not see. From then, I continued to participate. Early in my career, the educational sessions at the conference were the attraction. The networking was the bonus, but the real reason I attended was for the sessions. I studied the agenda and planned out my days, happy to meet like-minded people in the sessions. As I grew in my career, the balance shifted from Education to Networking. While there were always advanced sessions, many of the sessions became less valuable (to me) as my experience and knowledge grew. Networking at the sessions became more valuable because of the conversations with peers on the topics, sharing ideas beyond what the session presented. Over time I started to present, at CSCMP, RILA, WERC, and other events. In this late stage of my career, the value is mine to return to the community." According to the June Logistics Manager’s Index Report®, the overall index is at 65.0 down from May, and a full 10.0 points short of this from the same time last year (although still up 3.3 points from the beginning of the initial recovery in June of 2020). This marks the first time in 22 months that the overall index score has come in below the all-time average of 65.3. The slowing rate of growth can be contributed to the 9.1-point drop in Warehousing Prices. High Inventories continue to prop up the LMI, preventing the rate of expansion from dropping even further.
