Annual Buying and Marketing Show

Sports Distributors of Canada (SDC) hosted their annual Buying and Marketing Show at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, ON from November 6-8, 2023. There were 675 attendees at the show, including members from stores across Canada and the U.S., and vendor partners who hosted 153 booths across the show floor.

During the show, a vendor reception was held where the Hockey Vendor of the Year award was handed out to Bauer by Brad Hause, President, Sports Distributors of Canada. From Bauer, Bryan Mcdermott, Senior Director of Sales North America, and several members from the Bauer team were on hand to accept the award. Also, for the first time, we acknowledged the Hockey Accessory Vendor of the Year. This award was presented to Elite Hockey, a division of Icon-Elite Group Inc., and was accepted by George Nehme, Chief Executive Officer. Elite Hockey was a significant partner in the development and launch of the “S – HOCKEY” branded apparel and accessories collection. 

Lastly, on behalf of the Alberta Source for Sports store owners, Dave Ridd from St. Albert Source for Sports honoured Rick Edginton, from Tek2Sport, who is retiring after several decades in the sporting goods industry. Rick was called out for his incredible contributions as a sales rep over his career. He was the ultimate sales rep, providing the highest level of service over his tenure. He was a mentor in the industry and made many friends over his time.

The SDC team looks forward to hosting everyone again at their next show, which will be held in Niagara Falls, ON from June 19-21, 2024.
