Interpretive Rule on Demurrage and Detention under the Shipping Act

The Federal Maritime Commission announced last week that it has approved the Interpretive Rule on Demurrage and Detention under the Shipping Act, which provides guidance as to what the Commission may consider in assessing whether a demurrage or detention practice is unjust or unreasonable.
