CTA Supported Ballot Measure Qualifies for 2024 Ballot
The Executive Committee of Californians for Fair Pay and Accountability announced their measure officially qualified for the 2024 ballot. The Committee submitted 962,217 signatures in support of the reform, meeting the 110% validity rate threshold required by the Secretary of State.
The California Fair Pay and Employer Act (Act) is the measure that would:
- Avoid prolonged and costly court cases
- Eliminate shakedown lawsuits
- Resolve claims faster under the Labor Commissioner
- Replace current private attorney actions with employment enforcement exclusively in the hands of independent state regulators
- Provide penalty payments to workers, NOT LAWYERS AND THE STATE
The measure will appear on the November 2024 Ballot.
