SB 32: Greenhouse Gas Targets for 2030

If passed, the bill would set the state’s emissions targets at 40% below 1990 levels by the year 2030. The trucking industry would be exposed to increased regulatory powers of ARB under this scenario. CTA staff has been working hard at urging the legislature to adopt a minimum life standard for equipment and protection against extreme regulatory measures such as the facility emissions cap. However, legislative leaders have not been able to gather the necessary votes to pass the bill due to strong opposition from the moderate democrats. At this point, it looks unlikely the bill will pass the year.
