Open House for I-5 Improvements

The City of Santa Clarita is the third largest city in Los Angeles County and it’s continuing to grow, creating many challenges on the I-5 throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.  Metro, in cooperation with Caltrans District 7, is conducting final design for the proposed lane improvements along I-5 from State Route 14 to south of Parker Road in the Santa Clarita Valley.  Operational improvements and capacity enhancements include the addition of high occupancy vehicle (HOV)/carpool lanes, extension of truck lanes, and addition of auxiliary lanes (outside lanes extending between an on-ramp and a subsequent off-ramp). These changes will increase capacity, operations and safety for the region.
