When driving towards the Cesar Chavez Street entrance to US 101, please avoid using residential side streets as cut-through routes whenever possible. Instead, please remain on designated truck routes such as Cesar Chavez and Mission streets whenever possible. Many of the residential side streets south of Cesar Chavez Street have steep grades and truck traffic is not advised. The City of San Francisco has received many complaints from residents who live on these affected streets and instead of going through a process of that may lead to further truck restrictions, they want to work with CTA and remind carriers that operate in the City of San Francisco to use the approved truck routes.
