Unit Members Present $22,000 to Make-A-Wish Foundation:
As long standing supporters of the local Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Kern Unit of the California Trucking Association presented a check for $22,000 to the organization to fund wishes for four Kern County kids. The check presentation was held at the annual CTA golf tournament during their luncheon on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at at the Riverlakes Golf Course.
The donated funds will be used to grant the wishes of four Kern County kids all who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition. Three of the children, along with their families, attended the luncheon and were humbled and honored to be present for this important occasion.
Medical professionals are referring eligible children in record numbers because they are
seeing how wishes affect health outcomes for children fighting critical illness.
About the Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical
conditions. An average cost of a wish is $6,000. If you would like more information about

Last year this event raised over $40,000 for Abused and At-Risk Children in Southern California, and we are looking forward to another successful year. The planning has begun and this event is for everyone to attend, scene motorcycle/ car/ truck "Poker Run",delicious BBQ lunch, fun activities for kids and families to enjoy all day and some amazing silent auction and raffle items as well. Thank you to all our sponsors and participants who helped make last year such a success and looking forward to working with everyone for this year’s event.
