CHP HazMat Securement Presentation

On August 3rd, the CHP’s Golden Gate Division conducted an extensive presentation at the Cordelia Inspection Facility regarding the transportation and securement of hazardous materials. The session was a follow up on a similar presentation that was conducted at CTA HQ in December by the CHP Commercial Division. In attendance for the session were CHP personnel from Golden Gate and Northern Division, CTA members and a few Assistant District Attorneys from various Counties. The purpose of both sessions was to provide CTA members with a clear cut articulation of the rules for transporting hazardous materials (IE: securement, placarding, etc.) Making sure that the rules are clearly defined and presented to industry was the theme of the sessions. The sessions were in response to issues that some CTA members have encountered with some County District Attorneys regarding HM related violations.If your company has received a letter from a County District Attorney’s Office please let CTA know.
