City of Turlock Reduces its Transportation Permit Fee

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Following the receipt of CTA’s letter and follow up phone call, the City of Turlock recently notified CTA that they will be reducing the cost to obtain a transportation permit fee. As has been reported previously, per California Vehicle Code Section 35795 cities cannot charge more than the Department of Transportation (Caltrans) can charge which is $16.00 for a single trip permit and $90.00 for an annual permit. The city is also offering partial refunds for the difference in what they were charging versus what the state charges. If you have not received a partial refund and are interested in obtaining a refund, please contact the City of Turlock Transportation Permit Office 209-656-2784. CTA would like to thank longtime member Reeve Trucking for bringing this to our attention. CTA has noticed an increase in cities charging more than what the law allows, if your company comes across a city that is charging more than what they are legally allowed to charge don’t hesitate to contact CTA. For more information contact Eric Sauer at esauer@caltrux.org.
