In response to rumors that Members of the United States Congress are considering truck-only revenue sources (focusing on VMT fees – to pay for transportation), ATA recently sent the following letters to the Members of the relevant committees to let them know that ATA will strongly oppose such actions.

As you know, CTA is a member of the California Road Charge Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) which recommended that if California is going to implement a Road Charge (VMT) type program on trucks that it would have to be a voluntary program, not mandatory.
