(MONTEREY) — Last week, the California Trucking Association (CTA) announced its new executive leadership team for 2017. Douglas S. Britton assumes the role of president and former CTA President Mike Yadon will now serve as Chairman.

"It is the association’s distinct privilege to hand over the gavel to Doug Britton. His commitment to CTA and our industry is unmatched. I look forward to working with Doug on the challenges facing our industry. I know his passion and tenacity will serve CTA and its members well in the coming year," said CTA CEO Shawn Yadon.

Britton has been a member of CTA’s Officers Council for the last six years and previously served as CTA’s first vice president. He is the owner and president of Britton Trucking, based out of Firebaugh, California.

"For the last six years, it has been my pleasure as a member of the Officers Council to help propel CTA forward. I look forward to working with CTA staff and our members to keep the momentum going. It’s no secret that the trucking industry here in California and nationwide is facing new and ongoing challenges. Working together, CTA is ready to face these head-on and ensure truckers can continue to operate successfully. Our industry is the backbone of the state and nation’s economy and I am excited about the opportunity to advocate for our members," said incoming president Doug Britton.
