Earlier this week the California Trucking Association (CTA), California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Caltrans hosted a "Lessons Learned Winter Wrap Up Roundtable" meeting at the Caltrans District 3 Kingvale Maintenance Station in Kingvale. The meeting occurred in response to CTA members requesting the meeting to discuss what went right, what went wrong and what could be improved upon following this winter’s unprecedented storms. CTA members were well represented and included, Fed-Ex, UPS, Devine Intermodal, NevCal, Oak Harbor Freight Lines and KKW.
Better and improved communication was the theme of the meeting and both CTA and Caltrans will be working to improve the communication before next year. It was also agreed by all who attended that every year CTA , CHP and Caltrans should host the Winter Driving Safety Campaign before the Holiday Season at Kingvale. Last year, quite a few media outlets from all over the state attended and did news reports on the Safety Campaign.

Caltrans and the CHP also gave a huge "shout out" to the CTA Pusher Truck Program which as you know, only operates through the generous donations from CTA members. We are always taking donations for the program and need your help!!!!
CTA encourages all of its members who utilize the I-80 Donner Pass corridor to get connected to the Caltrans District 3 (Kingvale) communication list. CTA is also connected to the District 3 Facebook and Twitter which provides real time updates on closures, detours and construction projects. Get in the know!!!!! If you want to get connected contact Lupita Flores at lflores@caltrux.org. For more information contact Eric Sauer at esauer@caltrux.org.
