Preliminary General Election Results

While California’s general election took place last Tuesday, there are a few races that have yet to be decided.

The latest report from the California Secretary of State’s Office estimates more than 3.8 million ballots remain to be processed. By state law county elections officials must report their final results no later than December 9, 2022 for the Secretary of State to certify results by the December 16, 2022 deadline.

Below are preliminary results for the state races as well as Propositiong 30:

Senate Results
If these results hold, the partisan split of the Senate would move +1 D to 32 Democrats and 8 Republicans.

Preliminary Assembly Results
If these results hold, the partisan split of the Assembly would move +1 D to 61Democrats and 19 Republicans.

Proposition 30, a Lyft sponsored ballot measure which would have imposed taxes on high wage earners to provide funding for zero-emission vehicles, including trucks, appears to be headed to defeat at 41% to 59% as of this morning.

CTA will provide members with additional information on key races as the unprocessed ballots continue to be counted.
