2023 TUFSOB Topgolf Tournament

Created by CTA members, the TUFSOB Scholarship Program came about at the 1992 Annual Membership Conference at the Hotel de Coronado in San Diego. The TUFSOB program was the brainchild of Bud Wallace (Cascade Drayage & Warehousing, Inc.), along with Joe Nievez (Quikway Trucking Company), Connie Garcin (Garcin & Associates), and Bob Crites (Condor Freight Lines, Inc.). These four came together, writing out their plan on a cocktail napkin, and implemented a way to raise funds and award grants to trucking's next generation.

Scholarship awards go towards high school graduates entering college, as well those continuing their college education. The TUFSOB program also supports those that wish to go to trade schools, as well as adults wishing to go to college that are sponsored by a member can also qualify for subsidies. Anyone that supports the trucking industry is considered, as long as they are sponsored by a CTA member company.

Proceeds from The TUFSOB (Truckers United Fraternity Super Offspring of the Boss) Golf Tournament go to build a scholarship fund that will make direct grants to children of those involved in the California trucking industry that are pursuing a higher education.
