On June 25, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) unanimously adopted the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Rule. CTA assembled this detailed summary, which describes the rule and its two main components – the manufacturer sales requirements and the fleet reporting requirements.
The California DMV extended the waiver for expiring CDLs, CLPs, endorsements and medical certificates for intrastate drivers. The waiver, which was set to expire today, has been extended until September 30 to match the extension for interstate drivers issued by FMCSA earlier this month.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) released its first Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse report, which summarized January to May 2020 data. Positive tests for marijuana use far outpaced those for other drugs reported. There were 10,388 positive tests reported for marijuana, compared to 3,192 for cocaine, the next most common drug reported. The report also includes the number of registrations, queries, violations and drivers in the return-to-duty process. | More
