FMCSA published a Notice in the Federal Register requesting comments on a proposed “Split Duty Period Pilot Program”. Last year, as part of the HOS rulemaking, the agency proposed a 30-minute to 3-hour “pause” on a CMV driver’s 14-hour clock; however, with no supporting safety data, the agency chose not to include the split duty period provision in the final HOS rule. Instead, FMCSA is conducting a pilot program to obtain meaningful data on this provision.

Naylor has hired a technology vendor to investigate, including a full review and assessment of the root cause to ensure an outage doesn’t happen again, and they are upgrading systems as they come back online. CTA and Naylor appreciate your understanding as we've worked to resolve this issue, and we look forward to providing quality association communications in the future. The September/October edition of Caltrux will be published and distributed as soon as possible.
