CTA’s Call on Washington was a little different this year. For the first time, the conference was fully virtual. Instead of running through the halls of Congress from meeting to meeting, CTA members were hopping from Zoom call to Zoom call. Members received a briefing on the many federal transportation issues pending before Congress and advocated directly on behalf of the industry during their meetings with the California Senators and Congressional Delegation. Transportation and infrastructure are a prominent issue in DC right now as the U.S. Senate is debating the latest bipartisan infrastructure package. Members were on the frontlines making their voices heard and offered solutions to some of the major concerns such as driver shortages and truck parking. The opportunity to discuss federal transportation issues was well timed as staff and legislators were looking to our members for important insight and feedback as the leading industry experts. Even though we were unable to rub elbows with key leaders in person, hopefully we will be back in Washington next year.
