On Tuesday, May 25, the Solicitor General of the United States (Solicitor General) filed her brief in the matter of CTA v. Bonta, our Association’s challenge to AB 5.
As you may have seen, the Solicitor General’s office is recommending that the CTA’s cert petition be denied.
This outcome was not unexpected and we remain optimistic that the United States Supreme Court (Court) will ultimately grant the cert petition.
CTA’s counsel is prepared to file our response brief shortly and the Court will ultimately decide on the status of the petition in June or the Fall of 2022.
We will share more information as it becomes available.
CTA partnered with PCS Safety Inc. to develop a COVID-19 Prevention Program designed specifically for the trucking industry to assist our members in complying with recently revised Cal/OSHA regulations and CDC and California Department of Public Health safety recommendations for the transportation sector.
This comprehensive and customizable program, which has been recently updated with the Cal/OSHA May 2022 revisions to ensure compliance with the requirement that employers implement a written COVID-19 Prevention Program, has the forms, signage, training materials and information your business needs to implement your own COVID-19 Prevention Program.
