CTA in Action: Government Affairs Update
Compliance and Regulatory News
Last week the LA/Orange Unit hosted its unit meeting entitled "BIT Program Changes are Here". The presentation/panel was provided by the CHP Southern Division and CTA’s Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Eric Sauer. Throughout the presentation there were plenty of questions from CTA members about the changes to the BIT program. CTA is working with the CHP on clarifying the questions that have come since the new program was implemented in January of this year. In the meantime take a look at the presentation that was provided by CHP at the August 24th LA/Orange Unit meeting. For more information contact Eric Sauer at esauer@caltrux.org The BIT ProgramSecure File Transfer (SFT)- International Registration Plan (IRP) Applications
In an effort to provide trucking companies with a more efficient way to process IRP applications CTA and DMV have established the SFT/IRP Pilot program. The CA DMV utilizes SFT with external customers, allowing entities to securely submit large quantities of electronic data to the department. Trucking companies (customer) are able to load data into the SFT site and the CA DMV is able to retrieve that data for internal processing. Ideal candidates for the pilot are medium to large size trucking companies. For more information or if you are interested in participating in the pilot contact Eric Sauer at esauer@caltrux.org .

Wow, Thank you! What a blessing you and your staff are! Thank you so much for your generous outpouring to the community here in the Kern River Valley. This thank you has been a long time coming, but we haven't forgotten your kindsness in helping with the Erskine Fire Community BBQ. If you did not see the acknowledgent in the Courier, July 15th issue, enclosed is the write up of the event. Your donation of ALL the food for the BBQ, all the fixings, drinks, paper goods provided a means of which we needed and you provided above and beyond! Your staff and crew helped set up, deliver and clean up. It is because of you, and your commitment to the KRV that we truly appreciate. Many had a great day, just to gather and have a little light hearted fun, and take their mind off the devastation the fire has caused. It is in times like these, we realize those who are there for our community. Thank you for being there. Sincerely, Pastor Jim Cox To read the article in the Kern River Courier click here.
