The Central Valley Unit, San Joaquin Unit and the California Highway Patrol will be hosting their Truck Driver Appreciation Day event on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Chowchilla River Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility. There will be free food and refreshments, driver safety and industry information, and displays and presentations by members of the commercial industry and law enforcement. Join us at our Annual "Truckin' For Kids" Charity Truck Show and Poker Run on Saturday, October 8th in Pomona, at the Osterkamp Trucking Center, 1350 Philadelphia.
Drivers Entry includes BBQ Lunch. Poker Run entry included, with $150 Cash for 1st and Cash payouts to 2nd and 3rd best poker hands. Top Ten Awards, plus Sponsors Choice. Live Band, Kids Zone.

September 20 - Northern Safety Council Meeting Member Alerts
The Northern Intermodal Conference meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 27 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m at the Port of Oakland. We have a number of important topics to discuss including a debrief on recent meetings with the FMC in Washington DC, updates on the Port of Oakland OIT program, and new CARB programs impacting Port Drayage.
In addition Peter Schneider has been able to set up a terminal tour at the SSA (Stevedoring Services of America) Marine Terminal. This tour is limited so please RSVP for the tour/meeting. RSVP to attend.
CTA Highlights
September 11-17 was National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. A week when America takes the time to honor all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy's most demanding and important jobs. To show appreciation for drivers and the trucking industry, California Trucking Association and Units throughout the state participated in Truck Driver Appreciation events last week.
