The Central Valley Unit, San Joaquin Unit and the California Highway Patrol will be hosting their Truck Driver Appreciation Day event on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Chowchilla River Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility.

There will be free food and refreshments, driver safety and industry information, and displays and presentations by members of the commercial industry and law enforcement. Kern Unit Clays Shoot
Save the date for October 7, 2016. The Sporting Clays Shoot will be at the Kern County Gun Club: 12450 Shotgun Road, Bakersfield, CA 93311. Proceeds will benefit disabled and disadvantaged children, disabled veterans and other persons and groups in need throughout Kern County.
This year's Kern Unit Clays Shoot will be the best ever! We have over $6,000.00 in a drawing for prizes, which include guns, gun safe, Santa Maria BBQ, and much more. Sacramento Unit is having a lunch meeting and unit election October 18 at CTA Headquarters, Sacramento. Speaker RJ Cervantes, Director of Legislative Affairs, will review emerging regulatory and legislative threats to your business, and discuss what CTA is doing to battle them. Join us at our Annual "Truckin' For Kids" Charity Truck Show and Poker Run on Saturday, October 8th in Pomona, at the Osterkamp Trucking Center, 1350 Philadelphia.
Drivers entry includes BBQ lunch. Poker Run entry included, with $150 Cash for 1st, and cash payouts to 2nd and 3rd best poker hands. Top Ten Awards, plus Sponsors Choice, live band, and kids zone.
Show from 8 am to 3 pm, with optional Poker Run from 9 am to 1 pm.
Truckers Rally for Kids Co-Chairs Bill Smerber and Daren Zumberge are requesting your support for this wonderful event benefiting children in need.

Members of the Tri-County Unit partnered with the California Highway Patrol Coastal Division for their annual Truck Driver Appreciation Day at the Conejo Law Enforcement Inspection Facility on Friday, September 16, 2016. Free barbecue sandwiches, chips, and cold drinks were donated by members Velocity Truck Center and Sysco. Lunch was served to over 200 drivers. Members from the Velocity Truck Group, Certified Freight Logistics, Inc. and McCarty & Sons Towing were on hand to assist in serving the drivers. Representatives with the Air Resource Board, PrePass and officers with the Motor Carrier CIEP program were there to offer information to the drivers. To view more photos, click here.
