Commercial motor vehicle inspectors throughout North America conducted driver and vehicle safety inspections on large trucks and buses during the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) 29th annual International Roadcheck, June 7-9, 2016.
Caltrans is calling on state freight operators to participate in the Caltrans Truck Survey in an effort to collect data on physical and operational characteristics of commercial vehicles operating in the state. The data collected will help Caltrans plan and develop projects to improve freight movement in California.
Attention Members: Every winter season creates challenges for our industry and the trucks that have to travel over California's high elevation mountain passes in order to make their deliveries. With the 2016-2017 winter months rapidly approaching, I'd like to call your attention to the Pusher Truck Program, one of the many CTA member benefits that makes a difference for hundreds of trucking companies each year as they pass the tough mountain climb on Interstate 80.
We need 10 minutes of your time! The I-15 Mobility Alliance is considering improvements needed to the US93 and US95 Corridor from I-10 to I-80 (which includes portions of US93a, US6, and NV318—and excludes freeway portions—see map). This corridor currently serves important interregional travel, and portions of it can serve as an alternate route to I-15 in the event of closures between Salt Lake City and Southern California (such as the recent closure at Cajon Pass due to fire).

Statewide Event Calendar
California Trucking Association is proud to announce driver William Gularte of FedEx Freight in San Luis Obispo as the 2016 Southern California Driver of the Year. Mr. Gularte and seventy-two drivers from Southern California received Driver of the Month Awards and Honorable Mention Awards at the annual banquet on Saturday, November 5th at the Pacific Palms Resort Hotel in the City of Industry. Mr. Gularte was selected from the seventy-two drivers for this special recognition.
