CTA in Action: Government Affairs Update
In just the first year of the new Legislative session, Legislators introduced nearly 2700 bills. Read on to view a partial list of bills CTA is actively engaged in.
June 2nd brought the first major deadline for the Legislative year, the House of Origin deadline, when all bills from their original house must be passed to the next. This deadline culminates in the Legislature acting on 700 bills in three days.

The discussions at last month’s annual meeting of the International Registration Plan emphasized once again the problems motor carriers may have in using their electronic logging devices to produce IRP and International Fuel Tax Agreement records, unless the carriers make sure the ELDs will do the job.

FDA hopes to address three areas: 1) ensuring food is properly refrigerated, 2) vehicles and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized, and 3) ensuring food is properly protected during transportation.

Work to clear a section of U.S. Highway 50 in El Dorado County will increase over the next few days after new slide activity at the location today. More than 50 truckloads of new debris fell onto the westbound lane of Highway 50 this morning at Alder Creek, a rural location between White Hall and Kyburz.
