CTA in Action: Government Affairs Update
A member of the California Highway Patrol will speak at both the Northern and Southern Safety Council meetings next month on the ELD mandate. Both meetings will take place on Tuesday, September 19. On July 17, 2017 the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) a division of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), released a revised version of the Form I-9, also known as the Employment Eligibility Verification Form. This revised Form I-9 replaces the previous version of the Form released on November 14, 2016. Use of the new Form I-9 must be implemented on or before September 18, 2017.

Statewide Event Calendar
This all-day event will include short breakout sessions facilitated by representatives of the California Highway Patrol. The summit focuses on current safety issues, regulatory requirements and provides a forum for open and candid discussions with state and federal representatives on commercial vehicle safety and security issues. The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) invites you to participate in a public workshop to learn more about the proposed California Phase 2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) regulation and potential amendments to CARB’s existing Heavy-Duty Vehicle GHG Emission Reduction Regulation (Tractor-Trailer GHG regulation).
In March of 2017 the Air Resources Board adopted a resolution to return within 12 months with concepts for regulating impacts from large freight facilities including seaports, railyards, warehouses, and distribution centers. ARB will hold their first public workshops on this initiative
