CTA in Action: Government Affairs Update
This ATA webinar provides a detailed description of an alternative independent contractor model, under which a carrier uses broker or freight forwarder authority to contract with an owner-operator working under his or her own motor carrier authority, in contrast to the more common independent contractor model.
Help Desk - FAQ's
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation (§383.71) requires commercial drivers to self-certify the type of commercial operation they are engaged in: interstate or intrastate. CTA's Help Desk has received calls from members with drivers who have been incorrectly self certified as intrastate drivers. CTA has worked with DMV to put together self-certification procedures that members can use if their drivers need to correct their self-certification status.
