CTA in Action: Government Affairs Update
CTA's Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, Eric Sauer provides a Legislative & Regulatory Update on some of the most current trucking industry issues. Mr. Sauer provides updates on: CHP ELD enforcement, ATA's California Meal and Rest Break Petition, the CTA's litigation response to Dynamex, CTA's 2018 Legislative Report, and information on the Policy Meeting Recap scheduled for Monday, October 22.

Believe it or not, winter is upon us. Caltrans will be hosting their annual (Donner Pass I-80) Winter Operations meeting on October 31st from 1pm to 3pm. The meeting will take place at the Caltrans Kingvale Maintenance Station located on Donner Pass Road. Caltrans and CHP will both provide briefings during the meeting. Lunch will be provided in the cafeteria for $5.00. If you utilize the I-80 Donner Pass region this is a must attend meeting. Please RSVP to Laurie James at Laurie.james@dot.ca.gov. The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) transitioned to its new leadership for the 2018-2019 term on Sept. 26, 2018, at the CVSA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Kansas City, Missouri. Lt. Scott Carnegie of the Mississippi Highway Patrol is the new president of the Alliance. Sgt. John Samis of the Delaware State Police is CVSA’s vice president. Capt. John Broers with the South Dakota Highway Patrol was elected by the membership to the position of secretary. Capt. Christopher Turner of the Kansas Highway Patrol will now serve his three-year commitment as past president. Read Full News Release

The session will also feature a brief overview of CTA’s Code of Ethics.
