The Call for Presentation Proposals for the National Water and Wastewater Conference is closed, and we’ve got lots of quality abstracts to build a fantastic program.
There are a few priority topics our Committees have identified as being timely and important that we’d like to expand on.
Our Wastewater Committee is planning to build a panel session on Stormwater Management – if your utility is doing something innovative to manage or monitor your stormwater, please consider sharing your experiences by participating in the panel. We’re especially interested in including participants on low impact development, the Ontario domestic action plan, and how stormwater is impacting water quality in Lake Erie.
Our Drinking Water Committee is planning to explore the issues of lead in drinking water – because of the unique challenges of lead, we’d love to hear different solutions being implemented, and possible solutions.
Finally, we’re planning a session on treatment plant ugrades and their impacts on water quality. Sometimes you can invest a great deal of money in upgrading your treatment plant, only to face unexpected water quality challenges. This session will explore how a major upgrade can and has impacted water quality, and share some of the solutions to these challenges.
If you have expertise to share in any of these areas, please send a brief presentation description to Kara Parisien at kparisien@cwwa.ca.
