ISO TC282 is under development. This Standard will focus on the standardisation of water reuse of any kind and for any purpose.

A website for the technical committee is under development. To promote the vision the group is launching a contest for "Water Seen by the Children", winning submissions of either art work or photos will be published on the TC website each month. Canada is invited to submit artwork by February 14, 2018.

We encourage members to reach out to children in their jurisdiction to encourage participation. Digital copies of artwork or photos can be sent to CWWA at kparisien@cwwa.ca, and we will ensure it gets passed on to the ISO group.

More about the proposed standard
The Standard will cover both centralised and decentralised or on-site water reuses, direct and indirect ones as well as intentional and unintentional ones. It includes technical, economic, environmental and societal aspects of water reuse. Water reuse comprises a sequence of the stages and operations involved in uptaking, conveyance, processing, storage, distribution, consumption, drainage and other handling of wastewater, including the water reuse in repeated, cascaded and recycled ways.
