Our partners at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) held their Advocacy Days in Ottawa the week of November 19-23. This event pulls municipal politicians from across the country into Ottawa to discuss federal policies with their Members of Parliament and to speak to municipal concerns.
As part of the week, CWWA executive Director Robert Haller was invited to a special reception for Parliamentarians. This was a great opportunity to meet up with many of the FCM staff and their elected leadership,
FCM and CWWA are working very closely on a number of critical federal issues including:
- Infrastructure funding
- Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations (WSER)
- Standards for Flushable Wipes
- National Flood Risk Strategy
- Climate Change
- National Drinking Water Guidelines for Lead
CWWA’s Exec. Dir. Robert Haller gets caught up with FCM’s CEO Brock Carlton at the Advocacy Days Reception in Ottawa. The other photo is a completely fake, staged photo when I jumped into their media podium – just put here to see if anyone reads this. But I do look important!
