CWWA’s Water and Energy Efficiency Committee has had a busy year. The Committee, along with our Wastwater and Stormwater Committee, completed an Issues Analysis Paper on Food Waste Grinders that analyzed the impacts of these devices on the water system, from increased water demand, energy demand and the impacts on the collection and wastewater treatment system. The Paper will be ready to share in the new year.
The Committee is now beginning work on our next position statement and considering several projects to support.
The Canadian National Water Efficiency Network will be merging their activities with the CWWA Water and Energy Efficiency Committee on a trial basis. It’s hoped that the combined group will be more effective on promoting water efficiency projects on a national basis. This is an exciting development as it will bring new ideas and energy to the Committee.
