Thank you to all our members and contacts who attended the Canada Water Summit in Ottawa last week. It was a great event with some truly compelling technical and panel sessions and great networking.

The first day of the event featured meaningful discussion on resilience in the water sector, the status and future of the Canada Water Agency and the potential and barriers of green infrastructure solutions.
The technical sessions featured important speakers from the water sector who provided the audience with the latest news on current and emerging issues pertaining to the water industry.
The Window on Ottawa breakout session brought together senior federal representatives who talked about the Climate Resilient Build Environment Initiative, Standards to Support Resilience, and the Green Municipal Fund.

The second day of the event featured a discussion of the National Adaptation Strategy and how it addresses adaptation to climate change, specifically for the water industry. The Summit also hosted a panel on indigenous water issues, including an update of the success of the Atlantic First Nations Water Authority.
The Window on Ottawa breakout session unveiled a pool of information on the Flood Hazard Identification & Mapping Program, the National Adaptation Strategy, and Fish Habitat Protection Program. The Q & A session provided a platform for constructive discussions between participants and federal speakers.
