CWWA is proud to announce that Christine Nassif is this year’s winner of the annual Steve Bonk Scholarship. Christine is in the chemical engineering program at the University of Toronto and has been studying there since September 2012. Her future academic goal is to conduct research focused on aerobic and anaerobic sludge digestion, composting, chemical addition, and heat treatment as well as on the treatment technology that improves the chemical and physical characteristics of sludge in the primary and secondary processes. Upon graduation in 2016, Christine plans to work in the rehabilitation of water treatment plants and water sources (springs and wells).
The City of Toronto graciously hosted the scholarship ceremony on CWWA’s behalf on September 20, during its Public Works and Infrastructure Committee meeting. CWWA thanks all those involved from our Utility Member, especially Lou Di Gironimo and Diane Chester, for organizing the event.
