The Canadian Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) is excited to announce a new event strategy for their national-level water and wastewater events. No longer will we run multiple conferences and workshops, each focused on a separate field of our joint industry (water or wastewater or efficiency or security or climate, etc) and each on a different biennial schedule. Commencing in 2015, the CWWA will facilitate ONE, ANNUAL, national conference, bringing all disciplines and delegates under one roof.
Historically, the CWWA has hosted the National Drinking Water Conference every other year, in conjunction with Health Canada and the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water. On the alternate years, CWWA hosted the Canadian Wastewater Management Conference, partnering with the Canadian Association for Water Quality (CAWQ). In between, we hosted the Canadian Energy & Water Efficiency Conference with our partners at the Canadian Municipal Water Efficiency Network (CMWEN). Then separate workshops were organized for Security & Emergency Management or Climate Change or Biosolids and more.
As we forge ahead, we do so with every intention of keeping our historical partners and loyal delegate base, while perhaps growing in size and scope, inviting new partnerships and an opportunity to better serve our CWWA members – the utility leaders.
The many expected benefits of this strategy include:
We expect this event to develop into THE national event for those in the water and wastewater industries: where utility leaders share experiences across their provincial boundaries; where the private sector offers their support for these utility leaders; and where academics and practitioners share knowledge and create visons for the future health of Canada.
