CWWA Committees are one of the most important resources for the Association and our members. They help advise staff on technical issues, give invaluable input on federal legislation and initiatives, and even help direct the program for our National Conference and Window on Ottawa.
For Committee members, it offers a fantastic network of water professionals working in the same focused area of expertise. It is the best way to engage with the Association and derive value from your organizations membership.

A goal for 2018 is to feature more frequent updates on CWWA Committee activities in the e-bulletin. In the meantime here’s a summary of activities in 2017.
The committee has taken on the challenge of developing a formal position for CWWA on the issue of food grinders, but they recognize that this will require a multi-committee effort to include the wastewater and biosolids committees.
Meanwhile, our effort with MESUG to develop an International ISO standard was stalled for similar reasons around dispersion and testing. From that effort has arisen an international coalition of the wastewater sector to develop an international position statement. The group is known as the International Water Services Flushability Group (IWSFG) and has received the official endorsement of many countries, associations and municipalities (including many of our CWWA members). This group is meeting in London, Ontario October 5th and 6th. See more about this at
http://iwsfg.org.
Meanwhile, our CWWA Drinking Water Committee leading an effort to create ONE position on lead in Canada with partners at AWWA and CWN.
