RES'EAU Water Net - What's Next

RES’EAU Water Net was formed as Canadian Centre for Excellence. It was formed as a research initiative that brings together water technology engineers, chemists, economists, science policy experts and industry partners to tackle water treatment issues. Their hands-on, inclusive approach brings communities directly into the process of designing a passive water treatment plan that delivers the best results at the lowest costs.

After ten years, RES’EAU-WaterNET is set to end in summer, and a new non-profit organization is being formed to continue the achievements RES’EAU has achieved. RES’EAU a Centre for Mobilizing Innovation will be a new not-for-profit Corporation.

The pillar of RES’EAU a Centre for Mobilizing Innovation''s strategic plan is being strongly aligned with our allied communities, and we are determined to achieve continuity and transition within a new collaborative dynamic making partnership under the new Centre even more accessible to communities.

More updates will be forthcoming in the very near future.  But here is a glimpse of the initiatives that are in making:

• A modest website is launched (French version will be available in June) https://www.reseaucmi.org/
• Conducting average 10 focused KM event per year. Youth, operators, women, are amongst the many foci that will be addressed. Examples of many joint events/in conjunction with include:
• 2019 Annual Conference & Trade Show, Victoria, BC, May 26-28, 2019
• 10th Annual Canadian Water Summit, May 29-31 Blue Mountain Resort.
• 9th International Young Water Professionals Conference, June 23 – 27, 2019, Toronto.
• 12th Annual BC & YT First Nation Water & Wastewater, Operational Excellence Conference, October 8 to 10, 2019, Vancouver.
• National Water and Wastewater Conference Nov 3-6, 2019 Banff, Alberta
• Launch of RES’EAU Fellowship Award for those exemplary service to communities. In rural ecosystem there are ranges of disagreements difficulties we face for sure, and RES’EAU awards those who stepping up to help reconciling them.
• Critical Thinking - fostering open innovation demands an open culture where ideas and critics are taken in the constructive spirit in which they’re intended. We need to continue to hear your ideas, suggestions and comments, even if they may differ from conventional programs and thinking.   Please email your insight to connect@reseaucmi.org  and if possible along with:

Growth Opportunities

• RES’EAU has forged partnerships with Canada’s Digital Supercluster as they look for special initiatives aimed at engaging Indigenous people and women in meaningful leadership and technology development roles
• RES’EAU is expanding its discussions with several Foundations that are reaching out to us for partnership.
• International Collaborations - Dialogues on Innovation for Resilience of Rural Water Supply are in progress with the National Institute of Public Health of Japan, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the University of Tokyo.
• The excitement swirling around the Biological Ion Exchange (BIEX) isn’t just hype, it’s backed by an incredibly unique experience for those who picked it up, and yes winning of a Lieutenant Governor’s award for engineering excellence from the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of BC.
